Crew

Alexander Mavrommatis

Captain

Alex started sailing boats at the age of 2, on his family's 33ft ketch. As a an older child and teenager, he was mentored in the art of sailing on dinghy sail boats, then moved on to blue water sailing yachts as a young adult. By the age of 18, he had gained enough experience to take command of offshore sailing yachts. He knew then that sea and sail would always be an integral part of his life.

Blessed with a supportive family from the start, Alex invested his time and positive energy to gather a wide education and broad skill set while learning to speak 4 languages in addition to his Native Greek. With the successful completion of his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in information technologies, he went on to acquire the necessary marine certifications and began offering his services as a professional sailing yacht skipper at the age of 23. His background and natural inclinations, combined with a social personality, academia, hands on experience, numerous interests, world travels and a love for the outdoors, made him a perfect fit for this demanding profession.

Though Alex has taken on the rigorous responsibilities of a captain, he feels at heart like a host under sail, and has yet to have an unsatisfied customer. Having sailed extensively in the Mediterranean and parts of the Caribbean, it is the islands and coasts of Greece where he grew. Considering himself an informal ambassador of his country, he will sail with you through the best of the Greek Archipelagos, immersing you in the local culture and traditions while ensuring you are safe, relaxed and entertained!

With experience on most sailing yachts and catamarans on the charter market, he has now decided to crew this Hanse 588. To use his exact words: "This is truly the most beautiful monohull below 60ft! Offering full comfort inside along with a clutter-free deck that can actually be enjoyed, she remains a bliss to sail!"
